GERN summer school on ‘Crime, Justice, Social Control and Security’
Call for papers
The first GERN summer school on ‘Crime, Justice, Social Control and Security‘ will take place from 3-5 September 2012 at Ghent University, Faculty of Law (Belgium).
Theme: “Making strategic choices in researching issues on Crime, Justice, Social Control and Security”
Target Group:
PhD students working in the domain of “Crime, Justice, Social Control and Security” who are in an early stage (but not at the very beginning) of their PhD-project and who have already preliminarily explored some problems that they encounter in their project but are in the stage of making strategic choices, i.e. finding solutions and making cutting-edge decisions (such as setting restrictions, operational choices, measurement issues, target populations).
How to subscribe?
- PhD students have to submit an extensive abstract (2 pages) and an explicit letter of engagement (by the supervisor of the PhD and/or the director of the research unit) in the participation at the Summer School by the 16th of April 2012.
- The candidates have to hand in a paper in English or French (6.000 words) by the 30th of July 2012
